Arohi Sangeet Vidyalaya (ASV), A Voluntary Cultural Society was envisioned and founded by Rajaji Tikoo, a visionary socio-cultural activist dedicated to keeping the cultural heritage of our roots alive. His dream was to create a sanctuary where the timeless traditions of Indian classical music could be protected, nurtured, and passed down to future generations without boundaries.

Overview and Mission

The Organization: He established AROHI Sangeet Vidyalaya, in 1986 as a registered, recognized, A Voluntary Cultural Society. This society operates across India based in Jammu & Kashmir and Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Social Cause: Under his leadership, the society focuses heavily on philanthropy, offering free music training to underprivileged, specially-abled & marginalised community, women &  children.

Cultural Education: The society works actively toward the promotion, preservation, and documentation of Indian classical and regional folk music.

Scope of Leadership: As the society head, Rajaji Tikoo oversees community-driven music workshops, talent showcases, and collaborations with national cultural bodies like the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India & other Registered societies of India . His work serves as a bridge for artists moving between the Jammu & Kashmir region and the Delhi-NCR cultural hubs.

Prof. Dr. Padmini Tikoo is a distinguished Sitar maestro, musicologist, and academic scholar from Jammu & Kashmir, India. She belongs to the prestigious Banaras Gharana musical tradition.

She has served as an Associate Professor and the Head of the Sanskrit/Music Departments at Cluster University of Jammu.

Dual Expertise: Uniquely accomplished in both academics and the arts, she holds dual PhDs in Sanskrit and Indian Classical Music.

Musical Innovation: She is highly regarded as an innovative performer, famously becoming the first to demonstrate classical music blended with yoga. She has composed specialized spiritual concerts for international conferences.

Institutional Roles: She has been nominated by various major universities as an external expert for evaluation of PhD theses and practical music examinations. She also serves as a mentor at the Arohi Sangeet Vidyalaya cultural society in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
